  Great dinner experience tonight! Delicious food and a very attentive waitress. Will definitely keep returning, especially for the carnitas that are only available on the weekends.

  I LOVE MERCADO ! Great prices, great food. I get steak tacos (3) with everything. There has never been a time when I left this restaurant unsatisfied. The friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere brings me back every-time. The location is perfect, in southwest Detroit other wise known as Mexican town. I literally haven't had a better taco from anywhere else, since I've been eating at this restaurant.

  This place has really expanded over the last decade such a large inside eating area, meat counter n groceries.  Absolutely beautiful interior design just added a Cantina waiting on alcohol license.  A favorite spot of ours I grew up just a block away. Had 3 Tacos the  Birria de Chivo Estilo Jalisco (Mexican Braised Goat)  OMG FABULOUS
  Goat meat marinated in a sauce with ancho chiles and spices, then slowly braised until soft. This traditional dish known as birria and is normally served for special occasions." On the menu everyday how cool.  She has a Asada topped Botona and we shared a Grande Canalope be Mexican Melon I found it funny only place ever to list juice drink name for the Gringos.  Note this place the largest market with restaurant anywhere with clean restrooms and great savings on Meats,  Food and Grocery Household items on the cheap.  Kinda confusing place listed has about 3 different names.  Located corner of Vinewood n Vernor across from laundry mat I used as a kid in 1960's damn I'm old. #lajalisciensesupermercado #birria #goattacos #tacosdebirria #goatmeat #eatswdetroit #motorcitymunchers

  Found about this place years ago since I work around the corner and the word has gotten out how awesome their food is. They expanded their sitting down area and made outside eating tables so the secret is out. They are amazing. I eat here once a week. They have vegetarian options and they don't skimp on the flavor. Most mexiplaces consider something vegetarian if they put beans/cheese and lettuce on a tortilla.
  
  The veggie tacos are huge, $1.80 for all of that?!

  The super veggie burrito is massive. I can't eat it all.
  The cheese quesadillas? Yummy. Sometimes I add avocado in them to change it up.
  And the sauces they come with are out of this world. I'd buy it in a bottle if they sold it.

  I gave them
  5 stars . I'm taking it back
  I went  for carnitas and the little boy  gave me every unsightly pork part I think he could find I should've known when he asked did I have a preference.  We couldn't eat most of it because we didn't know what it was
  This really disturbs me because it seems like he did it on purpose and then said to me we don't accept EBT like I had on a welfare to work shirt or something. In my hand was a platinum Visa and I should've walked out as that is a low blow to assume someone is on welfare just because they black..Then his little snarky butt tried to laugh it off
  
  Get that little smart aleck away from your customers because he's showing what y'all taught him.
  I've probably been in Mexico longer and more often than he has..
